Perks of Being 2nd owner to old stuffs

So, When I bought this Jeep the title was missing. The original owner was such a gem and filed for a lost title. His daughter called to let me know my title had came in and when I went to pick it up. They had quite a rare treat. (Even more rare than those 2/3 1/3 split bench seats!)

The original Bill of sale and the 1972 Vehicle specs!

Also, Magic Mike cleaned up under the hood a ton, and when he finally got all the mud dobbers off the fire wall and engine this little guy slipped right off ... I'll put it back eventually but there is is Paint code 431 (Avocado Mist) and Trim code 407 (Buff 2/3 1/3 split bench seats)

This is how I know this Baby Jeep has to stay as original as I can keep it.

Toodles!

I found this gem ... a digital owners manual

Stalking Jeep CJ forums and this lovely person (I can't find the damn forum).

Trailforge is awesome.

The dreaded to-do list!

The joy of being a Jeep owner (especially the 2nd owner of a gorgeous 1972 CJ 5) is a to do list.
Hey one blinky light is in and it blinks!!!

The current situation.
Remember to visit Tater, My Rough Diamond for current updates.

Tater Introduction

You can also follow images of this majestic beauty coming together at my facebook album, Tater, My Rough Diamond.

So far, I've done just a tad bit of work with a very smart friend, Magic Mike.

Tater so far has but isn't installed....

  • A new gas tank and skid plate,
  • new transmission,
  • a new top,
  • front side markers,
  • rear tail lights,
  • hood latches,
  • mirrors,
  • body mount bushings,
  • rear wheel brake cylinders
  • valve pan gasket
So far Tater has (installed)
  • Brake master cyilnder
  • solenoid
  • battery
  • a rebuilt (original) carbeurator
  • a clean and freshly painted (original) air filter holder thingy... (F U I only need to know how it works and goes together.. names are not important)
  • locking ignition switch
  • 4 beautifully installed polished aluminum slot wheels with tires

She runs ya'll

I mean, that engine is a beast.

I need to flush and fill up the radiator, and right now her gas tank is a 5 gallon one in the passenger floor. but she starts and she idles and she's so damn pretty.

4 years and slow progress.

September 3 this year was Mine & Taters 4 year anniversary. We all know she & I are slow but progressive. I decided to have a photo...
