Trannys are trouble--please expect explicit language... don't like it... don't read it.

I said it, we were all fuckin thinking it.

So, My Tater is a 1972... my Tater has a frozen tranny. Damn thing won't shift into 2nd or 3rd.
FUCK IT. I have a back up plan.
I have a 3 speed Tranny.
So now that the tranny is out, and we have a clutch and fly wheel ... my shopping habit is out of control ...

and the floors are out.

lets drop the tranny in that isn't frozen.....

except

the

spline

is smaller

THAN THE FUCKING 1972 CLUTCH!!!!

FUUUUCCCKKKKK

SO, the new tranny is out of a 1978 ... 1978 clutch ordered and arrived... thank goodness for friends at parts stores that take good care of customers.

--waiting for the weekend to get shit together---

In another more exciting note Tater's original seats are being re-upholstered. The guy doing it is GREAT at his job. and he said the metal and springs are still in great condition... THANK GOODNESS.
And I got birthday boxes, so she has a new steering wheel, horn button, and speedometer cable!

WE FUCKING GOT THIS

Now, that you know what I'm in for-- unless you're a blooming idiot. Here's some pictures to show slow progress. This is a no judgement zone-  a girls gotta work to pay for her Jeep to have a better life!

The bolts are in, happy camper fuck it & cut it if it won't budge!! WE GOT THIS!

After Magic Mike the Metal Man took such great care getting the tool box out, we realized it was connected to that shitty floor and half of its missing... Maybe I can still use my original lid? I hate that gut wrench feeling of damn another beautiful original piece that can't be saved 😒 If you don't get this statement.. this blog is not one for you. Tater is my rough beautiful diamond, she will be polished. Also, keep in mind, I just wanna drive this thing. I don't want her perfect. I want her in motion. Mike is the perfectionist of this project.

Measure 2ce, cut once. No worries on those cut lines I don't use my breaks and they all needed replaced anyhow.

I do have some things still left to purchase.

I'm going to have my seats redone- $600 estimate
new windshield                                $180 estimate

Tool Box
Seat belts
Temp Control
Steering Wheel ✅
Horn that hopefully works with the wheel
Speedometer Cables
Brake Cables
wipers- anything I might need.
Headlight bezel x2
Headlights

YEAH WE GOT THIS!

4 years and slow progress.

September 3 this year was Mine & Taters 4 year anniversary. We all know she & I are slow but progressive. I decided to have a photo...
