To the actual building of the TATER

It occurred to me today at work, that I haven't actually updated any of the work on Tater in a while. Just, you know, the shopping lists and the purchased lists. Basically, if you're following my CJ 5 and you aren't a friend on Facebook, I've hidden all the dirt & grind from you. LIKE AN ASSHOLE.

So here we are.

A work of updates coming at you (like 36 photos are you prepared for this).

Magic Mike found a nice cool day and to do a little sand blasting and cutting. I went to Auto Zone and  grabbed some sand paper and primer and we got to it.

And then, it started fucking raining and we had to wait on a panel and decided to move the fun indoors.

So here we are, in the dry garage going to start on the front clip.
We got the radiator out, realized the water pump needed replaced & we have a little patching to do, before the mounts can go in. Magic Mike has all the metal worked out as he's a fabricator but, before I can put it all back together, we're waiting on the harmonic balancer.

We're gonna need to patch that ...

This thing has more clogs than a McDonald's repeat visitor....

It would appear that I have not yet trained my Tater....

And she peed all over the floor... Seriously, as busted as that radiator was I'm surprised at the juice still in there. . . So... on to the cleaning....

LOOK AT ALL THE PRETTY BLUEEEE

And now you can read important timing numbers

The weather let up, Magic Mike was inspired by my excitement on the pretty blue.
He took cleaning her up to the next level... AND CHECK OUT HOW MUCH PAINT IS STILL ON THIS FUCKING 46 YEAR OLD ENGINE!!

This CJ is just gorgeous. If you don't see it you are clearly not an enthusiast.

Brother Rick came to visit and he helped do some serious heavy lifting.
I am short. It's hard to lift stuff high when you're a short girl. LMAO
The hood and that old junk windshield frame are now off.

The jeep is currently under a tarp and we are working back in the garage on my hood, after a brief pause for Magic Mikes 89 "Black Magic Woman." (You can see her in the back ground of a few pics.)

She went down and we had to do some minor repair to keep her legal in our state. She's Magic Mike's favorite baby & my favorite jeep that isn't mine. You understand. (Mike has Gunner, Gabriel, Black Magic Woman, Lady of Night, & Whistling Dixie. I have  Ridley & Tater. We just HAAATTEEE Jeeps BAHA!)

So, here's some progress on recovering my hood. I need to get a dry picture of it but, we're getting ready to wet sand it and primer again so maybe next time.😛

OH and I finally settled on a color for the vinyl wrap. SOOOO here's you a little sneak peak of the delightful shade of Avacado Shift in Matte finish.

Well until next time,

WE GOT THIS!

So, guys I definitely blew my 2000 budget HAHAHAHA

When you wanna do this I guess you gotta do it right.

Here's an updated list of I BOUGHT it .. ugh

I guess it's totally safe to say, I'm completely invested and I love this old Jeep.
I am really excited to see the restore play out. I hope the things I've chosen to do so far does this old thing justice. I know a lot of you are right there with me just impatiently - patiently awaiting the end game!!

I have butterflies. :D
